Deputy Prime Minister Le Van Thanh assigned the Ministry of Transport to review the contents of Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Highway construction investment project (phase 1) to submit to the Prime Minister for approval of the investment guideline in the form of PPP.

The Office of Government has just issued Document No. 6000/VPCP-CN on Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Highway Construction Investment Project (phase 1).
 

The document clearly states the proposal of the Ministry of Transport in Proposal No. 8264/TTr-BGTVT dated August 11, 2021 on the approval of the project investment guideline under the form of PPP (BOT contract), Deputy Prime Minister Le Ban Thanh gives the following opinion:
 

The Ministry of Transport, based on the road network planning for 2021-2025 period, with a vision to 2050, after the content of Bien Hoa - Vung Tau Highway Construction Investment Project (phase 1) is reviewed and approved by the Prime Minister.
 

It is known that Bien Hoa - Vung Tau highway phase 1 has total length of 53.7km running parallel to National highway 51. The first point connects National Highway 1 bypass through Bien Hoa city, Dong Nai province; the end point intersects with the ring road of Ba Ria city (National Highway 56), Ba Ria - Vung Tau province. In which, the section located in Dong Nai province is 34.2 km and that in the territory of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province is 19.5 km.
 

The project has total investment capital of VND 19,012 billion, building 7 interchanges, 13 flow overpasses, 4 crossroad overpasses and 19 horizontal line bridges crossing highway. Total land area used to build the project is about 588.5 ha.
 

In case the investment guideline is approved by the Prime Minister, the project will start the procedures of investor selection from the fourth quarter of 2021 to the first quarter of 2022; deploy the construction of the Work from the first quarter of 2023 and completed after 36 months of construction.
 

Once completed, Bien Hoa-Vung Tau highway project will relieve the pressure of traffic jam for National Highway 51 - the arterial road connecting Vung Tau, Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai, currently overcrowding.
